The Romanian Designers of Tomorrow Connect in Cluj
The first edition of the Transylvania International Design and Fashion Fair, organized by High Heels Events, will take place on the 15th and 16th of November, at the Old Casino.
The fair presents itself as “a creative showroom”. The visitors will also have the opportunity to buy original products. It will feature Romanian designers, due to the organizers wish to promote the Romanian Fashion Industry. But there will be some International guests, in order to get “a different feel to the event”, said Casandra Mihut, one of the organizers of the event.
The fair was created for two main reasons, said Mihut. The first one was they wanted to encourage and help young designers gain exposure in a non-traditional way. The second reason was to create a national and international platform, where they could bring more experienced designers, a place where the public can engage and learn from the new designers.
“The traditional fashion show format can be a little impersonal, by having the event over 2 days and as a free event and with all designers having the brief that this is a chance to openly discuss their methods, fabric suppliers, inspirations, personal styles, creative methods and much more, with as many people coming to the event as possible there should in effect 50 workshops running at the same time.” Some workshops will be held by Cristina Brad (fabric painting), Zoltán Mártonos (spray art), and Denise Berekmeri (shibori technique).
High Heels Events is the organizing company, and one of their principles is “we like to think about what the visitor would like to see, rather than decide what we want to show them”.
In both days, the fair and the workshops will take place between 11 AM and 7 PM. The entrance is free for all the events, including workshops.
